#LocalGreenJobs

What is it?

We help our clients address key socio-economic aspects to carry out renewable processes with a social and local perspective, a key criterion for the awarding and successful development of renewable projects.

#LocalGreenJobs is a collaboration platform where local councils and communities meet with renewable energy developers to maximise socio-economic development tailored to the needs of each location (“localness”) and each renewable project. A renewable socio-economic match that ensures a sustainable and enduring future for both.

With this initiative, we seek to enhance the creation of sustainable environments while boosting the socio-economic progress of municipalities. Therefore, the process is supported by the three basic pillars of the energy transition, which are decarbonisation through renewable production, local development, and innovation.

Key aspects of this cooperation platform

  • It aims to achieve the proposed ESG development goals shared by the locality and clean energy producers, while addressing their needs through joint work and the promotion of training and green job creation.
  • The “#LocalGreenJobs” Seal certifies green, social, and demographic talent, providing municipalities with the training tools, knowledge, and investment for local implementation, and companies with academic, innovation resources, and public-private management to ensure the proper development and operation of projects with a lifespan that will endure for several generations.
  • It allows for the preservation and increase of the land’s wealth. Renewable energy resources and sources return the local value that the same land produces, creating a sustainable reality that puts local communities at the centre.
  • It facilitates project processing that values the entire range of multi-layered regulatory frameworks. Regulations with a common nexus—people—that combine local, regional, national, European, and even international governance levels.
  • This is an adaptable initiative and, therefore, exportable on an international scale.

Transforming Communities with #LocalGreenJobs

The #LocalGreenJobs initiative has already been successfully implemented in Spain in the locality of Roa De Duero and many other communities.

Our collaboration with the Roa De Duero Town Council in Burgos (Spain) included two different projects for the locality. The first, the DUS 5000 Programme, focuses on efficient energy consumption in public buildings. The second, RED CEL, aims to create local energy communities through a shared self-consumption system, with measures such as the installation of solar panels on municipal buildings.

Additionally, at AP Executive Search, we participated as sponsors of the II Cross Solidario Entre Viñedos, a local activity aimed at contributing to the municipality’s sustainability plans.

How do we do it?

With this platform, we drive the awarding of renewable energy projects while creating sustainable environments.

The process is supported by integrating socio-economic aspects such as:

  • Facilitating job creation in the region and hiring local workforce by more than 20%.
  • Providing training to members of vulnerable groups at risk of social exclusion.
  • Training for professionals on the maintenance of photovoltaic plants.
  • Talks in the community to raise awareness about the integration of this energy and its benefits.
  • Evaluating and exploring collaborations with local businesses and enterprises to strengthen the local business network.
  • Supporting municipalities and local public administrations committed to clean energy and energy transition.
