AP Executive Search drives the awarding of renewable projects with its #EmpleoVerdeLocal campaign

Madrid, 08 May 2024 AP Executive Search, the Spanish headhunting firm specialising in renewable energies, has taken a significant step towards promoting local employment and sustainable development with the launch of its #EmpleoVerdeLocal campaign. This initiative aims not only to meet the needs of its clients but also to contribute to national progress by considering socio-economic criteria to favour the awarding of renewable projects.

Alberto Pérez Ruano, CEO of AP Executive Search, asserts that the company will be able to assist its clients in meeting criteria that can make a difference, especially those related to creating attractive, sustainable environments conducive to talent generation and retention through renewable energies. “With this campaign, we are supporting town councils and mayors committed to clean energy projects, which are currently seeking promotional companies, engineering firms, and installers to collaborate on their execution,” he notes. He also highlights the added value that AP Executive Search will bring by facilitating the hiring of local or regional talent exceeding 20%, providing training for vulnerable groups, including women victims of gender violence and other at-risk groups, valuing local entrepreneurs and businesspeople, as well as retaining and attracting the necessary talent to generate local employment.

The initiative’s reach is also directed at all companies in the renewable sector that share, as part of their social responsibility, a long-term bond with the territory where their projects are located, generating additional value in the area, fostering the creation of direct and indirect jobs, and training various groups.

As a demonstration of this commitment, the firm has established a collaboration with the Town Council of Roa De Duero and its mayor, David Colinas Maté, on two local projects. The first, part of the DUS 5000 Program, funded by the NextGenerationEU funds from the European Union, has a value of €1.4M and corresponds to the resolution proposal of the Secretary-General of the IDAE, aiming to reduce energy consumption in public buildings.

The second project, called RED CEL, promotes the development of local energy communities and is driven by the Town Council of Roa de Duero, the Chamber of Commerce of Burgos, and has Edinor, a subsidiary of Petronor, as a technological partner. This initiative is based on the concept of shared self-consumption through the installation of photovoltaic solar panels on municipal building roofs. It also incorporates other technologies such as the creation of charging points, mini-wind, and mini-hydro systems, with the aim of encouraging sustainable mobility and improving energy efficiency and storage. The implementation of RED CEL will include the creation of 161 electric charging points to promote electric mobility and the management of 423 installations. Homes, local shops, and SMEs located within 2 km of the installation can join and become members of these local energy communities. This initiative offers cleaner, closer, and more economical energy, as the average saving on the electricity bill for members of the local energy community ranges between 20% and 25%.

“The main objective of our collaboration with the Town Council of Roa de Duero is to ensure that the municipality has access to low-cost energy, which will allow maintaining the existing business fabric and attracting new industrial investments. As a headhunting company, we are committed to being the link between companies, local administration, and candidates, in order to foster the creation of sustainable employment and support rural mobility through the implementation of social measures that benefit both promoters and citizens,” explained Pérez.

Sport and Sustainability

In support of environmental sustainability at the local level, AP Executive Search is proud to have actively participated as one of the sponsors of the II Cross Solidario Entre Viñedos race, held in April in Roa de Duero. This initiative aimed to contribute to the sustainability plans of the area and support various associations of the Ribera Solidarity Network, including Mental Health Roa, the Red Cross, and Cris Against Cancer. “Sport is rooted in our identity, so we are pleased to join this local sporting event to promote these new clean energy projects,” he added.
